Looking back, I see the road,
for many miles on my dad I rode
He looks ahead, the way to go,
so we can travel safely so

My dad’s my hero, my mom’s my angel,
together we face life’s every angle
My smile is genuine, I am content,
our future’s bright, our path unbent.

It may not always be so good,
but we’ll find success, in our neighborhood
We live in example, based on love,
we’ll find our salvation, from up above.

Today we travel, undaunted by time,
it’s our turn to smile, and make poems rhyme
May tomorrow bring more of the same,
but we’ll gladly welcome it, even the rain

My wish for you, who observes us pass,
is that you too, will walk on grass
And feel the bounty that good thoughts bring,
and find good joy, and time to sing.

A child stands waiting, for what, I wonder

Has a meeting run late, or for some other reason
For surely she’s dressed, correct for the season

Fear not, for the mother, is well on her way
Perhaps caught in traffic, one truly can’t say

Their reunion will soon, be sweet and complete
The universe turns, the world at their feet

Ein gewinnendes Lächeln, ein Gedanke zum überlegen
Ein Kind steht wartend, auf was, frage ich mich,

Es hat ein Treffen das spät wurde, oder aus einem anderen Grund
Denn sicherlich ist sie gekleidet, korrekt für die Saison

Fürchte dich nicht, denn die Mutter, ist sicher auf dem Weg
Vielleicht im Stau, ...

Look at my dog, he’s now upside down; rollicking, rolling, he thinks he’s a clown
I’m happy today, as my parents look on, I feel as safe today, as the day I was born

Who knows what’s in store, in the many years ahead, for now I have nothing to fear or to dread
I will enjoy my brief childhood, luckier than most, But I will only sing praises, and never to boast

My wish for the children, all the worldwide, is that they too can find a friend at their side
My friend is my dog, and he’s a real keeper, I do wish to treasure him, longer and deeper

And for my family and friends, who love me today, I sincerely want only one thing to say
Thanks! for the many gifts that you gave me, They will all come in handy, as I continue my life’s journey.

Ich schaue zwar arm aus, mir mag was fehlen, aber ich habe alles was ich brauche
Die Kinder überall brauchen Deine Unterstützung, bitte lass uns nicht betteln und flehen

Die Welt ist mit haben und nicht haben gefüllt, es ist so wie es immer gewesen ist
Aber Du kannst einen großen Unterschied machen, wegen dem was du gesehen und gehört hast...

Wonder what he’s  dreaming of, this infant so content
What dreams or schemes or even dreams of what some memory meant

We’ll never know, I suppose, of what import it was
No matter though, for it’s not for us, to ponder of the cause

So enjoy your dreams, sweet child of light, for day will soon be nigh
Another evening beckons, when you once again will fly.

Wunder, wovon es träumt, dieses so zufriedene Baby
Welche Träume oder Pläne oder sogar Träume von dem, was die Erinnerung meint

Wir werden es nie wissen, nehme ich an, was es wichtiges war
Egal aber, denn es ist nicht für uns, über die Ursache nachzudenken

So genieße Deine Träume, süßes Kind des Lichts, denn der Tag wird bald nahe sein

die Du zuvor gedacht hattest, zu finden.
